How to Take Part

Charity Place Apply for a guaranteed place on Team Miles for Smile today. All we ask is that you pay a registration fee and raise sponsorship 

Registration fee: £50

Minimum sponsorship pledge: £750 - the cost to put 3 smiles on 3 precious children’s faces.

Got a ballot place?

If you already have a ballot place we’d love to have you on the team. No need to pay a registration fee and we won’t ask for a minimum fundraising amount, just raise what you can. About The Event

The 2016 RideLondon 100 will see over 20,000 cyclists ride 100 miles of closed roads. Starting from the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, through the capital, to the Surrey Hills and finishing on The Mall by Buckingham Palace. With leg-testing climbs and a route made famous by the world’s best cyclists at the London 2012 Olympics, it's a truly spectacular event for all involved.

The Spartan Race is a fantastic new series of events. With six challenging obstacle races designed to test a runners true grit and determination. The Spartan Race even includes special kids races making it the perfect all-around fundraising event. 

If you have tried trail races and mud runs, and are now hankering for a tough new challenge, then it’s time to step up to a brutal Spartan Race. This fantastic new obstacle race is designed to test runner’s true grit and determination. You’ll take part in a host of gruelling obstacles and challenges which will demand every ounce of your strength and bravery.

About the Spartan Race Series

All over the country the Spartan Race team puts on different kinds of events, all designed for specific styles of racing and fun. Whether you're a determined champion looking to take home top honors, or a member of a team just looking to have fun, Spartan Race is the event for all your extreme pursuits.

The Spartan Race series has been the leader in obstacle racing since 2005. Designed by a mix of ultra athletes and Royal Marines, these courses are designed to test every ounce of your strength. 

You can tackle one of three levels:

  • Spartan Sprint: 3+ miles and 20+ obstacles - fun for everyone from beginners to seasoned athletes

  • Super Spartan: 8+ miles and 25+ obstacles - test your physical strength and mental resolve as you will be pushed to your absolute limits.  Well worthwhile thinking of entering as a group so your teammates can help when obstacles may appear too tough.

  • Spartan Beast: 12+ miles and 35+ obstacles - We’ve saved the best (or is it worst?) for last the Beast takes you out of your comfort zone and answers question and only the bravest can answer.  NB please be aware that it is a half marathon distance and is marked as extreme.     

Dates of these races vary depending on the location. We have seven dates and locations to choose from in 2014:

How to take part

Operation Smile has 50 places in the Spartan race series which will remain at the early bird price of £35! This can be a discount of up to 50 per cent and you may take part in any event. Our places come with a minimum fundraising target of £150 (1 child's new smile) for the Sprint and Super distances and £300 (2 children's new smiles) for the Beast race so if you would like to join our team and see if you have what it takes to be a true Spartan then sign up now!

About Bear Grylls' Survival Race Series

The Bear Grylls Survival Race consists of a multi distance series of obstacle races combined with Survival Challenges designed to cater to all abilities.

  • The 5K Survival Race is a race and team event designed to bring the survivor out in you, whatever your current fitness and adventure level. Natural obstacles and a range of survival challenges will boot you out of your comfort zone and help develop that tenacious survivor spirit that is deep within us all. Age 14+

  • The 10K Survival Race is a race and team event designed to test the more accomplished survivor. Natural obstacles, survival challenges and a host of surprises along the way. This course is fun, challenging, and will develop your survival fortitude and physicality big time!
    Age 14+

How to take part

We have a limited number of guaranteed places available - apply now for your place.   There is a £50 registration fee on acceptance of a place and a target pledge amount of £150 (a child's new smile!). 

Completing Obstacles

You will need to be able to complete lifts, carries, water obstacles and variety of medium and difficult obstacles. If you are unable to complete an obstacle you will have to complete a penalty. Think 25-meter Bear crawl through XXX (wait and see!!)

Running in a team

If tackling this event with your family or friends as fellow survivors is your chosen method we fully welcome this. Each of you must complete all the individual challenges to be considered to have fully completed the race. That being said, the more hands or knees to help your family or team get over obstacles the better!

Race Heats

The heats every half an hour from 09.00 until 16.00. All other heats after this time are designed for teams and first time survivors. Finally look out for the official Royal Marines Commandos runners. If you spot someone with the Beat the Marine t-shirt on in your heat you can win a special prize by finishing ahead of them - (if you dare!)
 

Finishing the Race

You must complete all of the obstacles and finish the race to be awarded your BG Survival race finishers medal and survival technical t-shirt. The male and female elite winners will receive £500 in cash and the 5K or 10K elite winner's trophy.

We have a limited number of guaranteed places available - apply now for your place in the British 10K 2015 Miles for Smiles Team.   There is a £35 registration fee on acceptance of a place and a target pledge amount of £300 (2 new smiles!). 

If you already have your own place in the British 10K we would be delighted to have you on Team Miles for Smiles. We don't set you a fundraising target but it would be fantastic if you could aim to raise £300 too.  You will still receive the same unbeatable support as our charity place riders.

About The Event

The British 10k London Run is one of the world’s greatest road race routes. Starting in Piccadilly, runners will pass historic landmarks including Trafalgar Square, St. Paul’s Cathedral and the London Eye. You'll join 25,000 runners from around the globe to help raise millions of pounds for worthy causes. The British 10k is an excellent opportunity to take in London’s beautiful backdrop whilst raising money for Operation Smile.

We have a limited number of guaranteed places available - apply now for your place in the Royal Parks Half Marathon 2015 Miles for Smiles Team.   There is a £65 registration fee on acceptance of a place and a target pledge amount of £450 (3 new smiles!). 

The ballot for the Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon has closed.  If you were luckly enough to get a place we would be delighted to have you on the Miles for Smiles Team. We don't set you a fundraising target but it would be fantastic if you could aim to raise £450 too.  You will still receive the same unbeatable support as our guaranteed place riders.

About The Event

The Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon is one of the world’s most beautiful city runs. The spectacular 13.1 mile route takes runners through four of London’s wonderful Royal Parks and past many of the city’s iconic landmarks. More than 12,500 runners join together to take part in the award-winning event to raise money for charity. Royal Parks is an excellent chance to see London’s lovely parks whilst raising money for children with clefts.

The next Royal Parks Half Marathon is on Sunday 11th October 2014.
